What you will be doing in this role 

In this role, you will assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing all maintenance activities across the hospital. You will respond to and coordinate tasks to ensure timely delivery, reduce backlogs, and uphold high safety and quality standards. 

This key role involves supervising maintenance staff, managing contractor relationships, and ensuring compliance with workplace safety. Your technical expertise will guide the team in maintaining the hospital's systems, buildings, and equipment, enabling the delivery of excellent patient care. You’ll provide technical support, perform system checks (electrical, plumbing, etc.), and ensure the efficient completion of maintenance, repair, and installation activities.

Who we’re looking for 

  • Strong technical background, ideally with expertise in electrical and plumbing, as well as exposure to all building trades, including general maintenance, construction, and HVAC. 

  • You’ll need experience as an electrical fitter or in plant maintenance, or in a similar role in a hospital or complex building setting.  

  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems and the ability to troubleshoot using data and system feedback. 

  • A proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve operational goals. 

  • Strong problem-solving ability, especially in high-pressure or urgent situations. 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or trade certificate preferred.
