What you’ll be doing in this role
Our casual Kitchen Assistants are primarily responsible for food preparation, food presentation, meal plating, meal delivery to wards / patients and clearing meals.
You will be part of our wider Food Services department which offers around 20 different Kitchen Assistant shifts each day of the year, all with varied function, responsibility and shifts times.
Please note: That we have a current need to cover the following Monday to Friday shifts 12:15pm to 8:45pm and 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Preference will be given to candidates who have availability to work these shifts, among others.
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant or other hospitality environment working with industrial kitchen equipment e.g., a commercial dishwasher along with cleaning kitchens, with an awareness of food safety, hygiene and manual handing standards
- You’ll have consistent work availability to work a minimum of 3 casual shifts per week
- You’ll have outstanding people skills with the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues and be self-motivated by having a ‘can-do attitude, with interest in going ‘above & beyond’ to our customers
- You’ll demonstrate excellent communication (both written & verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience considerately & professionally communicating with both internal and external customers
- You’ll have proven experience working both independently and within a team
- You’ll be well organised with the ability to prioritise workload to meet tight time schedules when required
