What you’ll be doing in this role
Responsible for the leadership and management, clinical nursing care, operational and financial controls and the nursing and wardsperson staff in the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine team, this position is ideally suited to an experienced Radiology/Nuclear Medicine nurse preferably with a special interest in wishing to advance their career in a leadership capacity. This position will ensure nursing best practice within the Radiology & Nuclear Medicine department, working alongside likeminded colleagues to ensure patient safety and care are foremost in strategic plans and operational direction. The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the training and education of all nursing staff and wardsperson team, workflow, stock management, meeting KPIs and budget targets.
In this nursing leadership role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading the Radiology nursing and wardspeople teams to achieve and maintain optimal levels of clinical efficiency and quality while actively promoting a strong culture of patient centred care
- Efficiently and effectively deploying our equipment and resources to achieve departmental and hospital strategic and financial objectives
- Ongoing planning, implementation and evaluation of care practices, processes, and services
- Collaborating with and supporting Medical Officers and other professionals in achieving excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements; and
- Creating a professional, respectful culture where interdisciplinary team members collaborate effectively to positively impact patient outcomes and shared professional growth.
Who we’re looking for
- You will bring a strong clinical management skillset developed through your leadership experience in a hospital or similar setting
- You’ll possess excellent clinical and people leadership capabilities, and your communication skills will be of a high order
- You’ll be empathetic, collaborative, adaptable, and committed to Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity
- You’ll be very committed to contemporary nursing practice, ongoing professional development, and the mentoring of team members; and
- You’ll have current AHPRA registration and a Masters in Nursing Management or looking at working towards.
