What you will be doing in this role
The San has one of the largest theatre departments in Australia with 19 operating theatres, including a Da Vinci robot system, an orthopaedic joint replacement robot, and supports our emergency care department meaning that there’s lots of variety to keep you busy!
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Stock Coordinator to join our team, reporting to our Nursing Unit Manager for Theatres. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, sterilisation, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical supplies, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in patient care.
You’ll maintain accurate records of sterile supplies and equipment and ensure that stock levels are adequate, and that timely reordering is conducted to meet the departmental needs. You’ll work closely with surgical teams and other departments to coordinate the timely delivery of sterile supplies for procedures.
Ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and quality assurance standards is a critical aspect of the role.
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll ideally have previous experience in a similar role in a Central Sterile Services Department or working experience in the operating theatre however we are also keen to see applications from Cert III qualified AINs
- You’ll hold a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (highly desirable)
- You’ll have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- You'll thrive in a collaborative and encouraging team atmosphere, always ready to go the extra mile to make things happen.
- You’ll be able to work full time, and ideally able to do 2 morning shifts (7 am start) and 3 evening shifts (9pm finish) across a Mon-Fri working week (no night or on call shifts).
- You’ll have full Australian working rights.
