What you will be doing in this role

The hospital offers the latest services and facilities, including 19 operating theatre (including 2 robotic equipped theatres) and 4 endoscopy suites, 1 state-of-the-art Hybrid operating theatre, 3 cardiac catheterisation laboratories, 24x7 Emergency department, intensive care and coronary care units, renal dialysis unit, rehabilitation and sleep studies units, and a leading multi-disciplinary Integrated Cancer Centre.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional evidence-based theatre nursing to patients and medical officers
  • Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork
  • Actively contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Supporting patient, theatre staff and AMOs through perioperative journey

Who we are looking for:

  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including morning, evenings
  • Demonstrated experience in acute care or perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice and quality management participation.
  • Your friendly and positive way of working with people will be obvious in how you considerately and professionally communicate with patients, their families, visitors and your colleagues;
  • You will be collaborative, adaptable and able to work independently and in a team;
  • You will be very committed to contemporary nursing practice and individual patient-centred care;
  • You will be empathetic, systematic and be dedicated to Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity;

Essential Criteria:

  • Completed HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent) with the Unit of competency – HLTAIN001 Assist with nursing care in an acute care environment
  • Completed the equivalent units within the Diploma of Nursing
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Perioperative nursing experience.
