What you’ll be doing in this role

Our Patient Services department provide various services to patients during their stay at the hospital, and a full-time Admission & Discharge Coordinator role has become available.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing valuable assistance to the Admission & Discharge Manager on a wide range of patient administrative, customer service, training and rostering duties.
  • Wholeheartedly contributing to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement and
  • Actively supporting a culture of comradery and teamwork

 Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have experience in private hospital patient administrative duties including pre-admissions, estimates, admissions, discharges, and cashier duties
  • You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of exceptional customer service within a health care setting
  • Your friendly and positive way of working with people will be obvious in how you considerately and professionally coordinate with colleagues to ensure their queries are answered, build rapport and ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • You’ll be empathetic and prepared to embrace Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence, integrity, and a strict adherence to privacy and confidentiality
  • You’ll bring excellent organisational and time management skills
  • You’ll have outstanding verbal communication and listening skills, as well as strong letter-writing, formal email and business documentation skills
  • You’ll be collaborative, able to work independently and as part of a team, and effectively interact with management and peers
  • You’ll be a self-starter, with the ability to be decisive and to act independently within the authority boundaries of this position
  • You’ll be computer-literate, proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferably, you will have had previous experience in staff training, rostering, and formal medical terminology training.
