About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operations & Nursing Executive, you will lead our Speciality services, including Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Services and Maternity. As the Director of Speciality Services, you manage a team of 6 direct reports, and will foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration. You will oversee workforce planning to attract, retain, develop and grow quality nursing services committed to high standards and the provision of excellence in patient care outcomes.

This role includes both strategic leadership and operational management, by providing innovation and clinical excellence in all aspects of the specialty portfolio.  As well as, workforce planning, you will also be accountable for driving clinical improvements, clinical governance & safety best practice, budgetary & fiscal management, while also implementing strategic initiatives that drive growth and excellence.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll have demonstrated experience in a senior leadership or executive nursing role within a hospital setting.
  • You’ll have strong business acumen with proven experience as a strategic leader. This will include examples of you driving strategic initiatives to achieve organisational goals & objectives.
  • You’ll be extremely accomplished with strong nursing operational management expertise.
  • You’ll have highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Your communication style will be authentic & respectful.
  • You’ll have extensive demonstrated experience managing and forecasting nursing workforce labour, costs and need.
  • You’ll have demonstrated proficiency in budgetary and fiscal management and knowledge of healthcare funding models, industrial and policy environments within the private hospital sector.
  • You’ll have current AHPRA registration and appropriate tertiary post graduate qualifications, preferably at Master's degree level
