What you’ll be doing in this role:  

As a casual Registered Nurse, you will report to the Nursing Unit Manager who is very hands on and leads the team from the floor. You will be supported by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator who alongside the NUM are committed to your development and upskilling. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Assessing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating the care needs of each individual patient 

  • Delivering exceptional evidence-based nursing care and monitoring to patients 

  • Wholeheartedly contributing to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement 

As part of our passionate and dedicated Orthopaedic team, you will take great pride in delivering the highest levels of quality clinical care to our patients during recovery and treatment following surgical procedures and acute admission.  

What we are looking for: 

  • Flexibility to work across a variety of 8-10hr shifts, predominantly Mon – Fri shifts with the potential for some weekends. 

  • While this is a casual role there is the potential to work 16-24hrs per week 

  • Considerable experience in orthopaedics and/or a desire to increase your knowledge and skills in this area to progress your career 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and strong initiative 

  • The ability to be adaptable while working in a fast paces and team orientated environment 

  • Exceptional communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience considerately & professionally communicating with patients, their families, visitors and colleagues 

  • You will hold a current AHPRA registration with ideally 12 months acute care experience 

  • Full Australian working rights
