If successful, you will oversee the running of a 40-bed post-natal Maternity Ward. You will also have a Clinical NUM 1, overseeing 9 dedicated birthing rooms, ensuites with baths and facilities to suit individual labour and birthing preferences, reporting directly to you.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Midwives to expand their career in the role of Nursing Unit Manager, Maternity Ward. This exciting role will utilise your management and clinical expertise, responsible for the effective management of the department’s clinical nursing care, personnel, operational and financial controls.

Essential Criteria

  • Current Registered Nurse/ Midwife with AHPRA
  • Minimum of four years post graduate experience
  • Tertiary educational qualifications in management or working towards same
  • Previous management or team leader experience
  • Demonstrates a high level of clinical knowledge and skill specifically birth unit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to quality care
