What you will be doing in this role
We are seeking an experienced finance leader to join our organisation as Director, Financial Control. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the transformation of the financial control function while ensuring excellence across financial reporting, controls, governance, treasury, and audit.
This is a highly visible leadership role that combines strategic transformation with operational ownership. You will be responsible for strengthening financial control and balance sheet integrity, improving reporting and processes, enhancing systems and automation, leading audit activities, and providing financial insights that support executive decision-making.
A key focus will be assessing the current financial control operating model and implementing initiatives that improve efficiency, reporting quality, automation, and business outcomes. You will also lead the organisation's ERP transformation, overseeing the selection and implementation of a new enterprise-wide finance and procurement system.
You are a passionate, hands-on Financial Control leader who enjoys improving processes, solving complex problems, and leading meaningful change. You combine strong technical finance expertise with the ability to influence stakeholders and bring people on the transformation journey.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance leader within a complex organisation, with a Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, with CA/CPA (or equivalent).
- Experience working in organisations with revenues exceeding $100 million.
- A proven track record delivering finance transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading ERP implementations or major finance systems projects.
- Strong financial control, governance, audit, and compliance expertise.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to assess challenges, ask insightful questions, and develop practical solutions.
- Healthcare, hospital, or similarly complex service-sector experience will be highly regarded.
- Ideally, you’ll have experience with Oracle JDE, SAP, Epicor, or other large ERP platforms.
- Exposure to automation, process optimisation, and AI-enabled finance solutions.
