What you will be doing in this role 

As a Registered Nurse – Anaesthetics you will be working collaboratively with the team to plan and implement perioperative nursing care, providing support to both the patient and anaesthetist during preoperative and intraoperative phases of surgical interventions as per ANZCA Guidelines.

Prepare both the environment and necessary equipment for the safe provision of anaesthetics, implementing a systematic and methodical approach to tasks with the aim of fulfilling the unique clinical requirements of individual patients. You will work closely with an experienced and supportive team, reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthetics/PACU. 

This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday with the opportunity to be included in an on-call roster.

Who we’re looking for 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in anaesthetics setting, with strong patient care skills and a thorough understanding of anaesthetic methods, agents and equipment. 
  • At least 3 years as a Registered Nurse, providing high-quality clinical care in a hospital setting. 
  • Excellent patient assessment skills, able to quickly identify changes in condition and respond appropriately. 
  • Knowledge of anaesthetic methods, agents, and related equipment. 
  • Current NSW Nurses Registration and valid Australian working rights.
