What you’ll be doing in this role 

If you enjoy a role that keeps you active and engaged beyond the desk, this could be a perfect fit. As part of our Health Information Services team, you will take on a variety of responsibilities, some of which have a physical component.  

Your role will involve retrieving medical records from wards, ensuring accurate filing, performing data entry tasks, safely handling the destruction of records, and collating, assembling, and scanning medical records. You will also help manage a busy reception desk, responding to phone requests for information or clinical notes and liaise with healthcare facilities and doctors’ rooms. 

We have both Casual and Full-Time max term roles available. Our team works on a rotating roster, typically Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, with occasional evening shifts from 10am to 6pm and weekend shifts between 8am to 6pm. Ideally, you will have some flexibility to support the team during these times. As a Casual, we expect to have 2-3 shifts available per week.  

Who we’re looking for 

  • You have a keen eye for detail, a systematic approach, and experience accurately entering information into computer systems while following strict procedures.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is a plus, as you’ll be working with specific medical terminology. 
  • You are proactive, able to plan, prioritise, and organise your work efficiently. 
  • You can follow instructions carefully and retain important information. 
  • You understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality and adhere to policies consistently. 
  • You are adaptable, collaborative, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • You can meet the physical requirements of the role, including retrieving, filing or collecting medical records from around the Hospital as well as collation, scanning and tracking of paper based records.
