What you will be doing in this role

You'll take the lead on key initiatives that drive meaningful change and improvements across people, process and transformation initiatives (ie. this is not an ICT project manager role). You’ll align projects with our mission to optimise processes and deliver maximum value.

Your responsibilities will include leading change and improvement projects in clinical and operational areas, managing project governance, and reporting on risks to ensure successful delivery. You’ll also help develop a streamlined PMO reporting structure that provides clear insights for stakeholders, and mentor teams to identify skills or capacity gaps, and recommend solutions to ensure projects are delivered on time and smoothly integrated into daily operations.

We are open to either full-time or 4 days per week for this role.

Who we’re looking for

To excel in this role, you’ll have a strong understanding of hospital operations along with significant experience in delivering and implementing projects, leading front-line healthcare teams, managing change, clinical re-design and/or driving continuous improvement within a hospital environment.

  • You’ll consistently deliver key results by providing effective leadership and oversight, as well as fostering individual skill development and competency growth.
  • You’ll be agile and adaptable, swiftly adjusting project plans and methodologies to meet the evolving demands of the private healthcare environment, patient needs, and organisational priorities.
  • You’ll drive financial performance by managing project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, and meeting financial targets set by the AHCL Board and Executive Team.
  • You’ll cultivate and nurture strong, positive relationships with diverse stakeholders including senior leaders, clinicians, and staff.

To help stand out from the crowd, please include a covering letter addressing the following:

This role requires working with Clinical Directors, NUMs, AMOs and Executive Leads — often with differing incentives. Describe a time you influenced clinical stakeholders who did not initially support a change. What specific strategies did you use? (200 words max).
