What you’ll be doing in this role  

We are excited to offer a permanent, part-time opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our 30-bed, state-of-the-art ICU team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs that aim to enhance the clinical skills and competencies of ICU nursing staff. You will facilitate orientation programs, assess competencies, and provide ongoing professional development to ensure the team stays aligned with the latest evidence-based practices. Your expertise in critical care will play a crucial role in enhancing the team’s capabilities and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), you will collaborate in developing unit-specific goals and workforce plans and assist in managing staff progression to align with our corporate strategy and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

You will be part of a close-knit team of highly skilled professionals, supported by the NUM, CNS, and CNE.  Together, you’ll make a real and lasting impact on both patient care and staff development.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in ICU or critical care, with a preference for experience in Cardiothoracic, Neuro Spine, and Interventional Neuro Radiology care
  • AHPRA Registered Nurse (RN)
  • You are a proactive, collaborative, and adaptable leader who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced ICU environment.
  • Strong clinical leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate education and training programs
  • Passion for mentoring, education, and professional development
  • Prior experience in clinical education, precepting, or staff development
