What you will be doing in this role
This is a rare opportunity to shape the people agenda of a large, complex healthcare organisation at an enterprise level. As Chief People Officer, you will influence how AHCL attracts, develops and supports its workforce, ensuring people practices enable high-quality patient care, strong organisational performance and a culture of safety and accountability.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be a trusted adviser to the CEO, Board and Executive team, bringing strategic insight, sound judgement and contemporary people leadership to some of our most critical priorities. You will lead a high-performing People and Culture function, oversee the development and delivery of a compelling Employee Value Proposition that strengthens Sydney Adventist Hospital’s reputation as an employer of choice in a complex, highly regulated and increasingly competitive healthcare sector.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a senior, values-led People and Culture executive who brings:
- Extensive experience leading P&C functions within complex, highly regulated organisations, preferably within healthcare.
- Highly developed communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to operate confidently and present at an executive and Board level.
- Proven capability partnering with C-suite and operational business stakeholders on people strategy, organisational development, governance and risk.
- Strong expertise across the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, development and succession planning.
- Demonstrated leadership of industrial relations responsibilities, including Enterprise Agreement negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
- A strategic, P&C leader with a data-driven mindset and strong analytical capability, who makes informed, evidence-based decisions with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong emotional intelligence and leadership capability, with a proven ability to build trust, lead high-performing teams and shape organisational culture.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Development or Management.
- Unrestricted eligibility to work legally in Australia, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
