What you will be doing in this role
As the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) for the Jones Endoscopy and Procedure Centre, which is part of the Sydney Adventist Hospital, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of leading a compassionate and skilled team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Your role will be at the heart of our efforts to create an environment where both patients and staff thrive. You’ll guide a dedicated group of nursing and support staff, providing the leadership and support they need to deliver exceptional care in line with our Mission and values. Your focus on building strong, collaborative relationships with patients, team members, and key stakeholders will be essential to the success of the unit.
In this leadership role, you’ll also oversee the operational and financial performance of the department. This includes managing budgets, controlling costs, and identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, all while ensuring the team is appropriately staffed and supported. You will foster a positive workplace culture that encourages continuous learning and professional growth, while also ensuring that all staff are equipped with the skills and resources they need to provide the best possible care. Above all, your commitment to open communication, patient-centred care, and a collaborative environment will play a key role in maintaining a department that excels both in patient outcomes and team satisfaction.

- Full Australian working rights and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- High level of clinical knowledge with experience in a procedural or endoscopy environment, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Demonstrated management experience in a similar procedural setting, with a proven ability to lead, inspire, and support a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous learning, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and healthcare innovations.
- Tertiary qualification in management, business, or healthcare, or actively working towards one, to support your leadership and operational responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to engage effectively with patients, staff, and stakeholders while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- A solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and team performance while continuously seeking ways to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
