What you will be doing in this role
As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab (CCL), you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. You will provide close observation pre- and post-procedure, ensuring patients are well-informed, comfortable, and at ease throughout their journey. Adhering to hospital policies and protocols, you’ll manage drug administration, infection control, and ensure patient safety. You’ll work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager, contributing to a supportive, collaborative environment while maintaining a high standard of professional and clinical expertise. This role requires a rotating roster, providing flexibility across a variety of shifts.

We have three busy cardiac catherisation labs where we perform a wide range of procedures including angiography and stenting, permanent pacemaker and ICD insertion, electrophysiology studies and ablation plus a busy structural heart programme involving TAVI, mitraclips, triclips, LAA ASD and PFO closures.

You’ll have the opportunity to continue your professional development through ongoing education and quality management projects, staying up to date with the latest trends in cardiac care. In addition to providing excellent patient care, you’ll assist in the management of ward equipment and resources, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring patient records meet legal and medical standards. As part of a dedicated team, you’ll also support junior team members, promote confidentiality, and uphold hospital protocols, contributing to an environment that values safety, professionalism, and patient-centred care.

Who we’re looking for

  • Full Australian working rights, with a flexible approach to working a rotating roster.
  • A minimum of one year post-graduate nursing experience, with a strong ability to work collaboratively in a small, supportive team.
  • Experience in a Catheter Lab, Operating Theatres, Anaesthetics or Critical Care nursing, along with a solid understanding of computer and signal processing systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a genuine ability to connect with patients and their families, providing clear and compassionate support.
  • Current AHPRA registration and a commitment to ongoing learning, with a willingness to undertake post-graduate studies and further training.
  • Highly desirable: Cardiothoracic or Coronary Care Certificate, or solid experience in Cardiac Nursing. Post-graduate studies in Cardiology and Acute Care are a bonus, with CEPIA certification being an added advantage.
