What you will be doing in this role:

Working as either a full time or part time Neurosurgical Unaccredited Trainee you will work under the supervision of Neurosurgery Specialists to provide care for patients with acute and chronic neurosurgical conditions, as part of our 12-month Trainee Unaccredited Program.

The Neurosurgery Department at the San provides an exciting opportunity to work in an environment with first-class facilities and a great team of medical, nursing and allied health staff.

The successful applicant for the part time role must be available 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Dedicated to being at the forefront of technology, the San has a prominent robotic surgery unit, state-of-the-art hybrid operating theatre, and the latest in surgical and diagnostic imaging.

 

Who we’re looking for:

Essential Criteria:

  • You’ll be a Registrar with at least 2 years post-graduation with the following skills and experience:
    • MBBS or equivalent
    • Registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
    • Post graduate year 2 minimum
    • Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning care provision, case management and management of clinical emergencies
    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • You’ll have full Australian working rights

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • You’ll have clinical experience in neurosurgery
  • You’ll be experienced with demonstrated ability in supervising junior medical officers

 

What to expect

Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments. These vary and will include professional references, a national police check, working with children check, vaccination evidence, among others.
