About the role
We are looking for a Casual Assistant in Midwifery to join our dedicated team, supporting patients in the Postnatal Ward and Special Care Nursery. This role reports directly to the Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) and is perfect for someone eager to grow in their midwifery or nursing career.
In this role, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct care to patients, following their personalised care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes. Your responsibilities will involve effective communication with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring their dignity, confidentiality, and rights are respected at all times.
You will be an integral part of the team, assisting with a range of care activities while also receiving continuous support and training from senior team members to help you grow in your role.
Who We're Looking For:
- You should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery program, having completed at least 12 months of study.
- The ideal candidate will possess a high level of empathy and emotional intelligence, and be able to effectively manage time in a fast-paced environment
- Your communication skills, both verbal and written, should be clear, professional, and compassionate
- Demonstrated ability to communicate well with patients, their families, and colleagues.
- You must be flexible, with the ability to work a rotating roster and step in to cover sick leave or annual leave as required
- Must have full Australian working rights.
