What you’ll be doing in this role
 
Here at the Sydney Adventist Hospital, we are looking for a part time Storeperson to join the Food Services Team. This role is Monday to Friday with shifts starting at 5am to 1:30pm.
Some of the functions of our Storeperson include, but not limited to; ordering, receiving, storage of food and non-food products, temperature management and stock control.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Work closely with Management, Dietitians, Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Assistants within the kitchen to provide quality and appetising meals to patients, community and hospital staff (through SanCafe) and Doctors
  • Contribute to a dynamic team through a positive outlook, high energy and motivation and foster a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to various stakeholders within the San along with vendors and suppliers  

Who we are looking for

  • Knowledge, skills and previous experience in stock management & inventory
  • Superb attention to detail with knowledge of food safety and HACCP guidelines and healthcare requirements
  • Experience with temperature monitoring systems is desirable
  • Excellent awareness of hygiene, WHS and manual handing standards
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload to meet sometimes tight time schedules
  • Be self-motivated to providing outstanding customer service by having a ‘can-do attitude, with interest in going ‘above & beyond’ to our customers
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience considerately & professionally communicating with both internal and external patient and customer groups
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant or other hospitality environment
  • Good level of computer and system literacy
