What you’ll be doing in this role
The Intensive Care Unit at the Sydney Adventist Hospital (the San) provides an exciting opportunity to work in a new unit with first-class facilities and a great team of medical, nursing and allied health staff.
This unit is accredited for C6 training with the College of intensive Care Medicine (CICM).
Trainees work alongside Senior ICU CMOs and Specialist Intensivists with strong links to Royal North Shore Hospital, and with opportunities to experience a diverse and interesting mix of cases, including surgical (incorporating neurosurgical, cardiothoracic and other specialties) and acute medical patients admitted through the onsite Emergency Department.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing an environment where patients can recover from their acute admission
- Wholeheartedly contributing to a culture of clinical excellence and continuous quality improvement; and
- Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork.
Who we’re looking for

- You'll have at least 3 years post-graduation with at least 6 months ICU experience
- You’ll have current AHPRA registration or eligible for it, or looking at working towards
- You’ll have demonstrated ability to manage and work in a complex, hospital-based inpatient environment
- You’ll have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary framework
- You’ll have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You’ll have current Blood Safe and DETECT competencies
- You'll be very committed to contemporary medical practice
