What you’ll be doing in this role
Fox Valley Medical and Dental Centre (FVMC) is the hospital's outpatient clinic with 7 GP's and several specialists. The role of Receptionist at FVMC is to provide high-quality reception and secretarial services to the patients, doctors and staff at the surgery in a caring and supportive manner.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining confidentiality of all information at all times and providing flexibility in practice staffing arrangements
- General reception and phone enquiry duties, handling phone calls courteously and professionally, and disseminating messages promptly
- Compassionate patient, family and customer care
- Arranging appointments and calendar management; liaising with GPs, other health professionals and their staff
- Meeting organisational requirements including inter-departmental communication i.e typing, formatting, and transmitting reports as necessary
- Banking duties, patient billings and receipt of monies; ordering and monitoring stock and office supplies, and other daily maintenance tasks
- Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork
- Actively contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll be a people person, with strong customer service skills, capable of dealing with hospital staff, patients and their families
- You’ll be adaptable, able to work independently and within a team environment
- You’ll be computer literate, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel
- You’ll have excellent attention to detail with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- You will have had previous experience in a similar role
- You’ll be adaptable, systematic and be committed to Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity
- Ideally, you will have knowledge of Medical Director and Pracsoft programs and completed a Medical Terminology course.
