Sydney Adventist Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with recent surgical nursing experience to join our exceptional team in our Surgical Centre. The Chapman Surgical Centre is both a Day Surgery Unit and Admission Centre for the Sydney Adventist playing an integral role with both day surgical procedures and screening patients prior to inpatient surgery.

We operate from Monday to Friday with 8-hour shifts commencing from 6.00am and other rostered shifts throughout the day. Therefore, there is no weekend or night duty work attached to this role

We are seeking Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses with some surgical experience who would like to work in this friendly and supportive, fast paced surgical unit. If you are looking to build on your Surgical skills and knowledge, this would be a great opportunity.

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

Essential:

  • Current registration with AHPRA 
  • 12 months recent surgical nursing experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care
  • Proven ability to work as a contributing and cooperative member of a team
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice 
  • Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills
  • Between the Flags Program, NSW Health DETECT
  • Bloodsafe Clinical Transfusion Practice

Desirable:

  • Day Surgery or Admission Centre experience
  • Previous team leading experience would be highly regarded
