What you will be doing in this role

The main operating theatres consist of eighteen general theatres and one Hybrid interventional theatre. All surgery undertaken here excludes transplant surgery The main focus of the Hybrid Theatre is vascular work.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Delivering exceptional evidence-based theatre nursing to patients and medical officers
  • Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork
  • Actively contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement

Who we are looking for:

  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including morning, evenings, as well as On Call.
  • Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing (or new grads welcome to apply)
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice and quality management participation.
  • You will bring excellent clinical skills
  • Your friendly and positive way of working with people will be obvious in how you considerately and professionally communicate with patients, their families, visitors and your colleagues
  • You will be collaborative, adaptable and be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • You will be committed to contemporary nursing practice and patient-centred care
  • You will be empathetic, systematic and prepared to embrace Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity
  • You will hold a nursing degree with current AHPRA registration
  • Ideally, you will have Specialist Instrument Circulating skills in Hybrid, Orthopaedics, Neuro-spine or other, and
  • Preferably you will also have completed the NSW Health DETECT, Between The Flags Program and Bloodsafe Clinical Transfusion Practice programs.
