What you will be doing in this role

Working under the guidance of the Director of Engineering Services, this role is responsible for managing and leading a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects within the hospital. As the sole Project Manager on the team, you will assess project feasibility, develop scopes and detailed project plans, and coordinate quotes, funding, approvals, and documentation.

You’ll take ownership of tracking budget allocations and expenditures, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial status reports for each project.

Strong stakeholder management is key to this role. You’ll engage with business users to understand their needs, coordinate internal and external teams, manage contractors, lead meetings, and provide regular updates - ensuring clear communication and alignment across all parties.

 

Who we’re looking for

This is a unique role, requiring a strong understanding of hospital operations along with significant experience in delivering and implementing infrastructure projects.

  • You’ll consistently deliver key results by providing effective leadership and oversight.
  • You’ll have a clear understanding of the National Construction Code, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards, and the ability to read and understand building infrastructure plans.
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment will be highly regarded.
  • You’ll be agile and adaptable, swiftly adjusting project plans and methodologies to meet the evolving demands of the private healthcare environment, patient needs, and organisational priorities.
  • You’ll drive financial performance by managing project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, and meeting financial targets set by the Director of Engineering Services and Executive Team.
  • You’ll cultivate and nurture strong, positive relationships with diverse stakeholders including senior leaders, clinicians, and staff.
