What you will be doing in this role
As an Undergrad Nurse or Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you will work under the direct supervision of an Enrolled or Registered Nurse to provide safe, compassionate person-centred care to patients.
We are increasing our Undergrad Nurse / Assistant in Nursing casual roles across the hospital. The purpose of these roles is to provide support to various wards by providing exceptional care to our patients.
Shifts vary and are normally 6-8 hours. Examples of common shift start & finish times are:
Morning – Start between 06:00 to 07:30 & Finish 15:00 to 15:30
Afternoon – Start between 15:00 to 15:30 & Finish 22:00 to 23:00
Night – Start between 22:00 to 23:00 & Finish 07:00 to 07:30
Who we’re looking for:
We are open to Undergrad Nurses currently studying their Bachelor of Nursing or AINs who hold Certificate III Health Service Assistance. As long as you meet the criteria below and are reliable, we would love to hear from you.
As a successful candidate you will have:
- Flexibility to work 2-3 shifts minimum per week, across a variety of shifts including morning, afternoon and night shifts, 7 days per week.
- Proven experience in the healthcare sector as a collaborative team player.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and can manage your own and shared workloads.
- An interest in Nursing best practice with an understanding of policies to ensure confidentiality, dignity, respect, and rights of patients are upheld.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Full Australian Working rights without any restrictions (no visa sponsorship is available for this role).
Additionally, if you are an Undergrad candidate, you must:
- Currently be in your second year of your Bachelor of Nursing studies OR
- If in your first year of studies, you will also have Certificate III Health Service Assistance (HLT33115) OR
- If in your first year of studies, be willing to delay your start until January 2026.
Additionally, if you are a career AIN candidate, you must have:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (HLT33115), as this is the only accepted qualification for this role. Please note: Cert III in Individual Support and Cert IV in Aged Care (or similar) are not suitable for work in our acute care environment. Applications without the required Cert III Health Services Assistance will not be considered.
