What you will be doing in this role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering Services, this role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of our Maintenance team and facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining strict adherence to cost control and safety standards, while also prioritising preventative maintenance to support our clinical teams and enhance patient care.

You will lead a team of 12-16 tradespeople, overseeing resource allocation, timesheets, budgeting for stock and equipment and managing risk alerts in RiskMan. Your role will also involve maintaining strong relationships with contractors and service providers, overseeing contract performance, processing invoices, insurance compliance, and the implementation of preventative maintenance schedules.

A significant aspect of the role involves data analysis, budget tracking, oversight of invoices, and reporting on departmental performance. You will be responsible for monitoring financials, preparing reports for senior management, and setting and evaluating KPIs for the Maintenance team to ensure continued operational excellence.

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities management role, ideally in a hospital environment.
  • Ideally, you’ll have a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a positive and motivational team culture.
  • In-depth understanding of contract management, performance monitoring, KPIs and budgeting.
  • Ability to analyse data and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • High level of organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with RiskMan or similar risk management software, and strong knowledge of Building Management Systems and the ability to problem solve from data presented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple & changing priorities.
