What you will be doing in this role
The Business Director of Perioperative Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the financial, operational, and administrative management of the perioperative service.

You will drive service excellence, support strategic objectives, and lead initiatives that enhance patient experience and service growth. This includes identifying opportunities for expansion, developing sustainable workforce plans, overseeing budgets, and partnering with clinical and executive teams to implement business transformation projects.

You will also play a key role in business development, building referral pathways, increasing patient volumes, and contributing to innovative models of care.

  

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader with extensive knowledge of perioperative services. The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Proven leadership experience within a perioperative environment, including high-level financial, operational, and administrative oversight.
  • Strong expertise in project and change management, with the ability to deliver business transformation initiatives and service improvements.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in business development, growth planning, and financial management, including budgeting and cost analysis.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with a focus on building strong relationships across clinical, executive, and external partners.
  • In-depth understanding of NSQHS Standards, clinical governance frameworks, and quality improvement initiatives relevant to perioperative services.
  • Relevant qualifications, including a postgraduate degree in health management, leadership, or a related field is essential and project/change management training is desirable.
