What you’ll be doing in this role

Our 29-bed surgical post-operative, post-ICU neurosurgical ward has a dynamic mix of cases in the neuroscience specialty and offers great learning opportunities for our nurses.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering exceptional evidence-based nursing care and monitoring to patients including stroke unit care, brain and spinal surgeries, neuro-oncology surgeries, and general adult neurology.
  • Actively contributing to a culture of comradery and teamwork
  • Actively contributing to a culture of continuous quality improvement

 Who we’re looking for

  • You will be a dedicated and committed Registered Nurse or an Enrolled Nurse with excellent clinical and patient communication skills
  • If an Enrolled Nurse, you would have completed HLTEN519 “Administer and monitor intravenous medication in the Nursing Environment”
  • You’ll have current AHPRA registration
  • You’ll be communicative with excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • You’ll be systematic, able to prioritise tasks but also have initiative and critical problem-solving capability
  • You’ll be adaptable, willing to learn, and work in a team-orientated, fast-paced environment
  • You will have completed the NSW Health DETECT, Between the Flags Program and Bloodsafe Clinical Transfusion Practice.
  • You’ll be collaborative, empathetic, and be committed to Adventist Healthcare’s everyday values of excellence and integrity
  • You’ll be very committed to contemporary nursing practice and individual patient-centred care
  • Ideally, you will have recent neuro-surgical and/or general neurology experience, and are willing to take relevant ongoing professional development related to Neuroscience
